Awards for volunteers
Volunteering can be a chance for you to gain new skills, use the experience you already have and also to gain a recognised certificate for all the work you do.
You can choose from 4 different award schemes in Wirral:
Wirral 100 Hours Certificate
Awarded for 100 hours of voluntary work
Wirral Student Volunteer Certificate
Awarded for voluntary work carried out over an academic year. Students do not have to complete a set number of hours but need to show commitment by attedning on regular basis. A great addition to your CV.
Long Service Medallion Award
Presented to volunteers who have been nominated for their long service in voluntary work. There are four awards ranging from 3 to 20+ years service.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development for people between the ages of 14 to 25. There are three awards - Bronze (14+ years), Silver (15+ years) and Gold (16+ years). We can offer a 'Certificate of Prior Learning for the Service Section of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award'.
Sports Wirral Award
Anybody who volunteers in a sporting activity from the Managers and Officials out on the field to the Administrators, Committee Mmebers and Fundraisers can get involved in the scheme.
As well as giving something back to your local community and providing a boost to your CV, benefits of the Sports Wirral Award include: Getting to pursue your interest in sport, developing skills such as leadership, communication and teamwork, gaining accreditation, building confidence in people for whom leading groups in sporting activities is a new experience and it can be a pathway to employment.
